2008 Plan


Mission Statement
ASIS International (formerly known as the American Society for Industrial Security) will be the foremost organization advancing the security profession worldwide.

  • Remain solvent and cost effective (Treasurer, Executive Board)
    • Plan and establish a budget that will make the chapter more business savvy and accountable.
  • Continue to offer educational and recreation opportunities that raise funds for the chapter and our causes. (Programs, Foundation)
    • Continue to hold the Golf Tourney. Evaluate annually.
    • Offer Virtual Forums to the chapter as a cost effective way to enhance educational opportunities to the membership.
    • Offer additional training opportunities to the general public as a way to enhance the image of the industry in general and ASIS in particular.
  • Sponsor a Law Enforcement Recognition Banquet each May. (Law Enforcement, Private Security)
  • Continue the Chapter scholarship offering. (Scholarship)
    • By providing funds to worthy students we raise recognition of the industry.
    • It is time to channel this recognition into classes and programs at area colleges that will develop the next generation of business and security leadership.
  • Identify and establish key philanthropic causes. (Foundation, Programs)
    • In addition to the chapter scholarship, select up to three key organizations through which the chapter can channel donations of time, money and expertise into the community, thereby raising the image of the security industry.
  • Expand the awareness of our organization, professionalism and members through regular press announcements and contact with other professional organizations, law enforcement and the community in general. (Executive Board, Membership, Programs)
    • Continue with established relationships and look for other opportunities to partner with other organizations.

    • Reinforce contact within the law enforcement community as the key players in the private security field. (Law Enforcement, Private Security)
      • Contact key police departments and all Tidewater/Hampton Roads city sheriffs in Southeast region around.
  • Certification (Certification)
    • Add at least one PCI to the Chapter
    • Add at least one additional PSP to the Chapter 
    • Add a least five CPPs to the Chapter
  • Apply for and win the I.B. Hale Award. (Executive Board)
  • Apply for and win the Chapter Newsletter of the Year Award. (Newsletter)
  • Apply for and win the Website of the Year Award. (Website)
  • Work together and have more fun.
    • Involve more of the membership in local opportunities for leadership, education, and success that gets things done while enhancing our industry, our community, and ourselves.
